Painting is my passion. It's been so since I could hold a crayon. I am moved by the beauty of the world around me. I try to share this excitement with others through my art.
My process is simple. Most of my work is done with my eyes, hands, and traditional paints and supports. These days I prefer oil painting en plein air or directly from life. My larger, more developed, works usually begin with preliminary sketches. I prefer to paint from life even in my studio because I can really study my subject. When I paint plein air I love feeling the elements around me. The ocean mist, the bird songs, and even the curious human visitors.
I go nowhere without my sketchbook.
